The hero of the great freedom fighters, Bir Shrestha martyr Lance Naik Munshi Abdur Rauf was born on 1st May 1943 in the village of Salamatpur (now Rauf Nagar) in Madhukhali upazila of Faridpur district. One of the seven highest honors of the country's highest civilian honor, Birshreshtha, was given by Shaheed Lance, Nayek Munshi Abdur Rauf, among the seven dedicated devotees for valor and freedom of the country. Munshi Abdur Rauf's mother's name was Most. Makidunnesa and father's name Munshi Mehdi Hossain. Abdur Rauf joined the East Pakistan Rifles force on 8 May 1963 as a soldier. During the war of liberation, he was under the regiment of No. 8.
